Favorite Playwrights

Shakespeare

End all be all of playwrights. Did it poetically, politically, dramatically from whom all playwriting flows. I can never read him enough and love that he wrote for the common man. Theater should be for "everyman."

William Saroyan

The three-sided conflict that is drilled into all our heads as playwrights becomes a three ring circus in his hands. There's never a sense of disorder despite the activity on stage. He broke all the rules and you'll see his influence in my two latest comedies Almost Home and Grave Concerns.

Tennessee Williams

His early work is poetry. Even his stage directions become short stories. He writes of life's pure secret longings that each soul has and few reveal. This undercurrent of passionate revelations are most seen in wonderful scenes like "Twenty-seven Wagonfuls of Cotton." Can we spell worship??
